Week 13 Random Pinehurst

We are such
coke addicts around here

All for a good, healthy cause
ironically.

Spring is Springing up

I love this time of year.
The bulbs that I planted
in the dead of winter
last November
are starting to pop
because
that bright yellow thing in the sky
is shining bright again

Especially into my kitchen window

As always, all photos (c) b3 home designs

I love spring.
Almost as much as I love summer
And then some.

Week 12 Random Pinehurst

So long as you always visit at 5:40,
you should be able to tell time
in about 9 different time zones
in my foyer.

Give or take a few.

Closet Evolution

It isn't much
but it is something

Finally got the mirror off the floor
and into the spot
it was intended for when I bought it
so dang long ago

One day
I will replace or paint the jewlery chest
replace the wire shelving
maybe even paint the wall

Or maybe not
Yes, that is my wedding dress
in the back

I should get it covered
Seriously.

Faux Eames Lounge Chair

I love
competitive
thrift store shopping

My husband
probably not so much
because then I bring home
stuff like this

Burien Value Village Find
March 2011

that I really don't need.
It's a great office chair though.

Week 11 Random Pinehurst

Well,
At least our grocery lists
are relatively simple

Honey?
Did you get
me a potato,
a sack of limes,
and a case of graham crackers?

You did?
Oh you DO love me.

Carry on now.

1 Hour Lovely | Bathroom shelf

I had an hour
a shelf
some paint

In pictures:

It is SOOO convenient
not having to dig toilet paper
out from under the sink anymore

Just saying
Like the succulent dish?
My newest obsession.
Blog post (or two)
coming soon about that

10 minutes, basecoat of primer
25 minutes to dry
10 minutes paint layer
painted in the bathroom
with the vent and heat lamp on

Ran some errands
Came back
15 minutes to move behind door
and add the knickknacks

Lovely what a little paint
can do

Week 10 Random Pinehurst

She is so lucky
that I can afford
her gourmet food
and that I love her
so much
that the puppy food factory
is my fave way to spend
a lazy Friday evening.

Week 9 Random Pinehurst

I am not the only
handy person
around this place

Check that.
Seeing as I'm all about form
and he is all about function
I think she prefers
his brand of handy
to mine.

At least she doesn't have to
strain her neck
on the floor
to eat anymore

Bathroom | One bit at a time

YEAH!
I got up
a shower curtain

It is waffle weave
which is impressive
no?

okay.
really,
I need to figure out
what to do
with this room

Given that it is really the dumping ground
for all the bathroom stuff
we don't want to stash
in the bathrooms we actually use

Go figure.

This is probably most evidenced by the little mirror on the wall
or the black rug on the floor

Hey.
Don't hate
it works

Of course,
I'm thinking
nautical

And I have some cool crab print/sketches.
But that's about it

No,
I didn't even install the curved rod.
That came pre-installed.

I know...what kind of
home improvement blog
am I running here?

Around Pinehurst - March (Cairns and Prayers)

Once upon a time
I took a really long trip
to a part of the world
that doesn't have western style toilets.

now.

this is significant
because I have a "toilet thing"
whereby I will not clean them
because my gag reflex just. cannot. deal.

so if you've ever been to a place
where you have had the pleasure of using
various eastern style toilets
oh...say...a place like Tibet
then the beauty of this

Toilet cairn, a bit off balance - Main floor Powder Room
Photo (c) b3 home designs

becomes far more relevant.

At Everest Base Camp (Tibet side),
we collected a couple of rocks.
All around Tibet, rocks are stacked (rock stacking = cairn)
mostly in prayerful repose
for safe travels

Or I think something like that

This cairn is our tribute
to the Great White Western Toilet God
that allows us the grace
to lazily sit our fat butts
on a bowl
that collects things unthinkable
and whisks them away to places
I never have to go

As opposed to crude holes in the ground
that I wasn't even allowed to use
more times than not
because I have lady parts.

Oh...Tibet.

Happy March!
